Two advanced sensor-based wheel washing systems were inaugurated at Tata Steel's Jharia Division in  Jamadoba Coal Preparation Plant (JCCP) and Bhelatand Coal Preparation Plant (BCCP). These systems will significantly reduce fugitive dust emissions from vehicles leaving the plants, contributing to cleaner roads and improved air quality in the surrounding communities.

Ram Pravesh, Regional Officer, Dhanbad, Jharkhand State Pollution Control Board (JSPCB), and Sanjay Rajoria, General Manager, Jharia Division, Tata Steel, inaugurated both facilities. Also present were Narendra Gupta (Chief, Jamadoba Group), Vikas Kumar (Chief, Sijua Group), Rajeev Kumar Ranjan (Head, JCPP), Kousik Gayen (Head, Planning), Prasenjit Samanta (Head, BCCP), Sougat Mahato (Assistant Regional Officer), and other officials from Tata Steel and JSPCB.

This initiative reflects Tata Steel's commitment to environmental stewardship and the adoption of innovative technologies to minimize its environmental footprint. The sensor-based systems ensure efficient and effective wheel cleaning, minimizing dust pollution.

The event also included a plantation programme, further underscoring the company's dedication to environmental conservation and increasing green cover. Ram Pravesh commended Tata Steel's proactive approach to environmental protection. This investment in advanced technology demonstrates Tata Steel’s ongoing commitment to sustainable operations and responsible environmental practices.
