The Sarpanchs of Madhya Pradesh have demanded a salary of Rs 15,000 per month from the government. For this, Sarpanchs from 23,000 Panchayats reached Bhopal on Tuesday.
First of all, they gathered at Ambedkar Park located at Link Road No. 2. Three groups of Sarpanchs announced to surround the CM House.
Panchayat Minister Prahlad Patel reached to convince them. But, the Sarpanchs did not agree, and as soon as he left, they started moving towards the CM House.
As soon as they moved forward, the police tried to stop them. When the female Sarpanch started moving forward by breaking the police cordon, barricades were put up.
The police asked to give the names of the members of the delegation to meet the Chief Minister. But, the Sarpanchs remained adamant on calling one representative from each district.
Meanwhile, the state president of the Sarpanch Sangh, Rajveer Singh Tomar said that rumors of meeting the Chief Minister have been spread. We have not met at around 5 pm, State Congress President Jeetu Patwari also reached the protest site and supported the demands of the Sarpanchs.
In the evening, the Sarpanchs discussed among themselves. He said the collector said that the minister has asked for 15 days time. We will stop the work of panchayats for the next 15 days by tying the memorandum around the neck of a donkey or a dog.
