SAIL and BSL begin Vigilance Awareness Week 2024

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) and Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) have jointly launched the Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, commemorated from October 28 to November 3. This week-long initiative aims to instill values of integrity, transparency, and ethical practices across all levels of the organization.

 

In Bokaro, BSL's Director In-Charge,  Birendra Kumar Tiwari, inaugurated the Vigilance Awareness Week at the Ispat Bhavan. Senior executives, including Executive Director (Projects & Material Management)  C.R. Mahapatra, Executive Director (Finance & Accounts) Suresh Rangani, Executive Director (HR)  Rajan Prasad, and Executive Director (Mines)  Jaydeep Dasgupta, attended the event. Chief Vigilance Officer and General Manager  Gyanesh Jha addressed the gathering, outlining various activities planned under the theme “Prosperity of the Nation through Integrity.”

 

The event commenced with senior officials paying tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, an icon of national integrity. DIC Tiwari then administered the integrity pledge to all present, emphasizing the importance of honesty and ethical values in professional conduct.

 

Simultaneously, SAIL headquarters in New Delhi marked the week with a ceremonial tribute to Sardar Patel. SAIL Chairman  Amarendu Prakash, alongside Director (Commercial) V.S. Chakravarthy, Director (Finance) A.K. Tulsiyani, Director (Personnel) K.K. Singh, Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials) A.K. Singh, and Chief Vigilance Officer Mr. S.N. Gupta, led the event. Chairman  Prakash also administered the pledge of integrity to SAIL employees, reaffirming the organization's commitment to ethical governance.

 

 

DIC Tiwari, in his speech, urged all employees to embody integrity in their roles, advocating professionalism and ethical standards in daily operations. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Senior Manager (Vigilance)  Chitra Parashar, who underscored the importance of collective responsibility in building a corruption-free society.

 

Through these initiatives, SAIL and BSL aim to foster a workplace culture where integrity drives prosperity, contributing to the nation's development.
