The national Capital witnessed the second season’s coldest night on Friday at 11 degrees Celsius with the city expecting to see slight increase in minimum temperatures in the coming days.
On Thursday, Delhi recorded the season's coldest night so far at 10.2 degrees Celsius. The falling temperatures have triggered people to take out their blazers and scarves as the city is witnessing colder days. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the night time temperature recorded on Wednesday was 11.2 degrees Celsius, while Tuesday night saw a low of 12.3 degrees Celsius, making them the third and fourth lowest of the season so far.
The city, covered in a blanket of fog and smitten by chilly wind, saw a maximum temperature of 27.2 degrees Celsius, a degree above the normal.
The humidity levels fluctuated between 97 per cent and 71 per cent during the day, according to the weather department. The IMD has forecast moderate fog for Saturday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures expected to settle at 28 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius.
According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, there has been a slight rise in minimum and maximum temperatures over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hour. “The Maximum and Minimum temperature over Delhi is in the range of 25 to 27 degrees Celsius and 9 to 12 degrees Celsius respectively. The maximum temperature was below normal by 1 to 3 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was near normal most places over the region,” the bulletin said.
