At St. Xavier's School in Sector 1, the Rotary Bokaro Interact Club organized a blood donation camp. The camp saw participation from approximately 30 students, 7 teachers, and 2 Rotarians who donated blood. This event was organized by the Interact Club to mark the 59th anniversary of St. Xavier's School.
Club president, Aksha, stated that the aim of the camp was to educate children about the importance of blood donation and to encourage them to donate blood. She further explained that blood donation does not adversely affect health; rather, it stimulates the production and circulation of new blood, which helps to remove impurities and keeps the body healthy and disease-free.
The club's secretary, Ayushi Patnaik, was also present and her assistance was highly commendable. Rotary Bokaro President Rtn. Mahesh Gupta also donated blood to motivate the students, which inspired many others to follow suit.
The event was significantly supported by the school's principal, Father Arun Minz. The successful operation of the camp was overseen by Rotary Bokaro's Interact Chairperson Rtn. Chandrima Ray. The camp was organized with the support of the Blood Bank at Bokaro General Hospital (BGH).
Doctors from BGH, Dr. Surendra and Rtn. Dr. Gaurav Vishal, along with 10 other paramedical staff, were present to ensure the smooth running of the camp. Rotary Club Secretary Hardeep Singh, Rtn. Pradeep Ray, Rtn. Inderpreet, and others were also in attendance. Overall, the project was a great success.
