Accusing the ruling party of complacency, state Congress unit chief Jitu Patwari on Friday urged voters in both poll-bound constituencies—Vijaypur and Budhni—to resurrect crumbling democratic values by voting for party candidates.
Patwari said that the government is led by leaders who have been in power for too long, and they are now entrenched in luxury and comfort.Patwari emphasised that, to wake up the BJP leaders in power, the voters should support the opposition Congress in these elections so that the people of the state can benefit. He claimed that the ruling party had made misleading promises to voters during elections.
The Congress party leader questioned the provision of welfare initiatives that the BJP describes as guarantees by the Prime Minister."Rs 3,000 per month was promised under the Ladli Behna scheme. However, this promise has not been fulfilled, and votes were manipulated by misleading these women.
Additionally, the BJP had promised Rs 2,700 for wheat and Rs 3,100 for rice to farmers, but this too has not been provided," continued Patwari while asking the Chief Minister to address these issues.Criticising the policies of the state government, Patwari claimed that the BJP has stopped welfare schemes for the poor, scholarships for SC, ST, and OBC students, and funds for about 35 departments, leaving the entire state in distress.
