Ranchi Police bust vehicle thieves’ gang

Ranchi Police have achieved great success during vehicle checking. Police have arrested three criminals. Besides, two stolen bikes have also been recovered.

The arrested criminals include the names of Sanjay Singh of Bariatu police station area, Vishal Swansi of Ratu police station area and Vicky Sao, resident of Madhukam of Sukhdevnagar police station area. All three have criminal history.

Addressing a press meet on Friday Ranchi City SP Rajkumar Mehta said that a case has been registered against Vicky in Sukhdevnagar police station for murderous assault and under the Arms Act whereas a case of murder has been registered against Vishal Swansi in Namkum, Mandar and Ratu police stations. At the same time, a case has been registered against Vishal in Namkum, Sadar and Sukhdevnagar police stations of Ranchi on charges of extortion, instigation and murderous attack. Vishal has been a PLFI militant in the past, he added.

Mehta further said that on the instructions of the SSP, Morhabadi TOP police had imposed vehicle checking on Thursday near the registry office of Morhabadi Maidan. “During checking, an MT-15 bike without number plate was stopped. The number JH-01D-0270 on the bike was not clear. After checking the chassis number of the said motorcycle, it was found that its original registration was JH-01EN-1539 which was registered in the name of Rahul Kumar, resident of Patratu in Chanho police station area,” he added.

The City SP said that when the police interrogated the accused Sanjay Singh who was caught with the bike, he told that he had bought this bike from his landlord Vicky Kumar Sao. “Vicky Kumar was arrested by the police on the information of the accused. Accused Vicky confessed to theft of another motorcycle. On the behest of Vicky, former PLFI militant Vishal Swansi was caught. Stolen bike with number JH-01FM 8265 was recovered from Vishal. He had stolen the recovered bike from Kotwali police station area along with Vishnu Saav. The police are taking further action based on the input received,” he added.
