A one-day workshop on new technologies in the construction sector was held at the Administrative Academy in the state capital on Wednesday.
Public Works Minister Rakesh Singh chaired the workshop, which was attended by a host of key officials, including Additional Chief Secretary KC Gupta, MD MP RDC Avinash Lavania, MD MP BD Corp Pankaj Jain, and other department heads and engineers.
Speaking on the occasion, Singh underlined the importance of innovation, transparency, and collaboration in improving the efficiency of the department.
He stated, "Innovation is our strength; we should work in harmony with innovation." He also highlighted the key role engineers play in achieving the vision of "A Developed State, A Developed India" and stressed the collective responsibility of making the department more people-centric.
He encouraged young engineers to contribute through innovations and urged senior officers to consider their suggestions. Participating in a discussion on the white topping of roads, Singh noted that decisions should not only be technically correct but also appear correct. He suggested issuing a public notice to raise awareness if such a requirement is technically necessary.
A major discussion was held on improving tender documents. Under Singh’s directives, study teams were dispatched to Maharashtra, Telangana, and NHAI to review tender conditions.
Suggestions from these teams were also discussed in detail.Singh also reviewed an exhibition on new construction technologies, where companies showcased their latest equipment.
The workshop also covered the Lokpath Mobile App, which was launched by the Chief Minister. The app aims to address road conditions during the monsoon, a time when complaints about potholes peak.
