As many as 40 women associated with self-help groups from different districts of Madhya Pradesh were given 5-day drone pilot training by expert drone trainers from Soaring Aerotech Limited, Indore, a startup established by the Prestige Institute of Engineering Management and Research. After completion of their training, all the women were awarded agri-drone pilot certificates by the officials of the National Fertilizers Limited.
After receiving training, these women from different districts of the state said that now they are not just Didi but Drone Didi, who will now go to their villages and spray urea and pesticides in the fields with drones and increase the livelihood of their group.
Giving this information, Himanshu Jain, Director of Soaring Aerotech Limited, and Dr. Manoj Kumar Deshpande, Director of Prestige Institute of Engineering Management and Research, said that the drone pilot training program was organized by the Bhopal zonal office of National Fertilizers Limited under the Central Government scheme `Namo Drone Didi Yojana'.
Jain said that Soaring Aerotech Pvt. is a DGCA-approved, Government of India-approved drone training institute and is a startup of the Prestige Engineering College. He said the company provides training for flying agri-drones, and after receiving training, the trainees are awarded certificates. After procuring these certificates, they can fly these agri-drones for agriculture purposes and make money out of them.
Deshpande said that the Prestige Institute of Engineering Management and Research is the only educational institute in the state that provides government-authorized training for flying drones through its startup.
