Posters supporting Hemant emerges in Ranchi post bail release

Monday, 01 July 2024 | Roshan Kumar | Ranchi

Posters and banners have been put up by Jharkhand Mukti Morcha at major roundabouts and intersections in Capital, which has become talk of town. The poster carrying picture of Hemant Soren with grown beard and hair, and written... Hul Johar... Satyamev Jayate! Another poster has been put up at roundabouts in which Hemant Soren is seen in clean shave and it is written on it that the game of conspiracies is over, our Hemant is here.

Two days back former Chief Minister of Jharkhand Hemant Soren has come out after getting bail from Jharkhand High Court. After coming out of jail after 5 months, Hemant Soren is continuously targeting BJP and saying that he was kept in jail by making a fabricated story but ultimately the truth won.

Hemant Soren was arrested by Central probe agency—Enforcement Directorate (ED) in an alleged land scam case after a long interrogation on January 31.

On last Friday, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha leader Hemant Soren was released from jail after he was granted bail by Jharkhand High Court in a money laundering case linked to a land scam.

The verdict follows the court's decision to reserve the order on June 13 regarding Soren's bail application.

The ruling was made by a single bench of Justice Rongon Mukhopadhyay. The Bench held: The overall conspectus of the case based on broad probabilities does not specifically or indirectly assign the petitioner to be involved in the acquisition and possession as well as concealment of 8.86 acres of land at Shanti Nagar, Baragain, Ranchi connected to the “proceeds of crime”. None of the registers/revenue records bare the imprint of the direct involvement of the petitioner in the acquisition and possession of the said land.

The claim of the Enforcement Directorate that its timely action had prevented the illegal acquisition of the land by forging and manipulating the records seems to be an ambiguous statement when considered in the backdrop of the allegation that the land was already acquired and possessed by the petitioner as per some of the statements recorded u/s 50 PMLA, 2002 and that too from the year 2010 onwards, it added.

Soren resigned as chief minister on January 31, minutes before he was arrested by the federal agency, and passed on the baton to Champai Soren. As he languished in jail, his party won three Lok Sabha seats this year, two more than its tally in 2019; its partner, the Congress, won two. The BJP-led NDA won nine of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in the state, three less than 2019. All the five seats won by the JMM-Congress combine in the state this time are reserved for scheduled tribes.

Similar type of posters were put up across the state Capital in the Month of February when he was arrested by ED in money laundering scam. Posters was pasted at the squares and intersections of Ranchi and it was written on it that Jharkhand will not bow down.

The entire city of Ranchi was adorned with posters proclaiming "Jharkhand Jhukega Nahin" (Jharkhand Will Not Bow Down) following the imprisonment of former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The posters, featuring images of Hemant Soren along with Chief Minister Champai Soren, JMM chief Shibu Soren, and notable Jharkhand martyrs, have sparked discussions across the region.
