To maintain the protection cycle, polio drops were administered to lakhs of children across the district on Sunday, with scores of health workers taking to bus stands and railway stations to expand the ambit of the Sub-National Immunization Day (SNID).The campaign commenced at the Samatva Bhawan residence of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, who joined the campaign by administering drops to infants in a show of solidarity with health workers.The district is targeting the administration of anti-polio drops to 3.5 lakh children under the age of five.The district administration established 3,020 polio booths with 6,075 vaccinators to administer the medicine.
Polio drops were also given at government health institutions and private institutions. Arrangements have also been made at airports, railway stations, bus stands, brick kilns, crushers, construction sites, fairgrounds, and markets for administering the drops.
