Over a dozen passengers were injured after a high speed passenger bus going from Bhopal to Bankhedi overturned at a turn near 34 mile intersection, about 10 km ahead of Goharganj in the evening on Thursday.

The passengers in the bus panicked after the bus overturned as there were about 55 to 60 people in the 53 seater bus who tried to escape from the bus which met with an accident.

Among the passengers 41 sustained injuries. On receiving the information, the police station, SDM Chandrashekhar Srivastava Tehsildar reached the spot. The injured were taken to Goharganj and Obedullaganj by ambulance. From here, the seriously injured have been referred to Hamidia and AIIMS.

Prashna Travels bus bearing registration number MP39P0218 going to Garhwara, Bankhedi, met with an accident 34 mile under the police station, about ten kilometers from Goharganj. Tehsildar Hemant Sharma said that 41 people were injured due to the overturning of the bus. They were brought to the Community Health Center in Obedullaganj by ambulance.

Civil Hospital in-charge Dr. Amrita Jivne said that 39 people were brought to the hospital, 16 of them are seriously injured, 9 of them were sent to AIIMS and 7 to Bhopal Hamidia for treatment. Currently 3 to 4 people are being treated at Obedullaganj Hospital. The rest of the people have been given first aid and sent home.

Meanwhile once again a case of alleged hooliganism has been reported in a low floor city bus in the state capital Bhopal, two youths attacked bus driver and conductor over a minor issue. This incident was recorded by the CCTV installed in the bus.

A youth was sitting on the reserved women's seat in the city bus. The bus driver asked the youth to get up from the women's seat. Angered by this youth along with his friend started beating the driver and conductor.

This city bus bearing registration number MP04PA4319 was passing through Suraj Nagar Tiraha at 5 pm in the state capital Bhopal, when two youths came on a bike and stopped the bus and boarded it.

After this, both the accused boarded the bus and started abusing the driver in front of the women passengers. When the conductor stopped them, they started beating the driver and conductor. This incident of assault was captured on the CCTV installed in the bus.

Driver Krishnapal Singh and conductor Muni Mahesh were injured in the fight by the miscreants. Driver Krishnapal's nose started bleeding and conductor Mahesh was also injured. The driver and conductor injured in the fight reached the hospital and got treatment.

Passengers terrified due to the fight

The passengers in the bus were terrified due to this incident that happened in Bhopal City Bus. Men, women and children were also travelling in the bus. Seeing the fight, the children got scared and started screaming.

According to bus driver Krishnapal, a person was sitting on the women's reserved seat in the bus, whom he had asked to get up from there. After this, two youths started beating him near Suraj Nagar a short distance.
