A total of 9,59,125 cases were disposed and an amount of Rs 4,89,57,00,533 was settled in the National Lok Adalat organised by Jharkhand State Legal Services Authority across the State under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority here on Saturday. At the High Court of Jharkhand 47 cases were disposed during the Lok Adalat.
In the Lok Adalat writs pending in the High Court, pension, motor accident claims, land disputes and compoundable criminal cases etc were kept. A total of two benches were formed under the chairmanship of Justice Rangan Mukhopadhyay and Justice Anubha Rawat Chaudhary. As a result of the positive efforts of officials of insurance companies, parties and advocates of both the parties related to pension and vehicle accident cases, various beneficiaries received benefits amounting to more than Rs 5 crore. A total of 47 cases were adjudicated in Lok Adalat. Appointment letters were also provided to a total of 12 beneficiaries of CCL on compassionate grounds.
At the Ranchi Civil Court compensation amount of Rs 63,30,000 was distributed among 31 victims. Rs 74,94,80,000 was distributed among the women of self-help groups. During this period, 25 benches for executive magistrates were formed. A total of more than one lakh cases were processed in the National Lok Adalat and an amount of more than Rs 40 crore was recovered, which includes execution of pre-litigation and litigation cases.
Justice Diwakar Pandey, Chief Justice was the chief guest at the inauguration of the National Lok Adalat. Family Court, Rashikesh Kumar, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Vice Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, Rahul Kumar Sinha, SSP-cum-Member, District Legal Services Authority, Ranchi, Chandan Kumar Sinha, DALSA Secretary, Rakesh Ranjan, Chairman, R. DBA, Ranchi, Shambhu Prasad Aggarwal, Secretary, RDBA, Ranchi, Sanjay Vidrohi, Judicial Officer, Arbitrator, Panel Advocate, PLV and others were present in the program.
