Over 4000 idols of Goddess Durga were immersed at the seven ghats in the state capital till Monday evening, said the Bhopal Municipal Corporation while praising its employees for their unstinting efforts.
In compliance with the directives of Municipal Commissioner Harendra Narayan, all necessary arrangements for the immersion activity are continuing at ghats in Prempura, Shahpura, Khatlapura, Rani Kamlapati, Bairagarh, Malikhedi, and Hathai Kheda.
As a result, 4,158 idols of various sizes have been successfully immersed since the Visarjan commenced on Friday. With the immersion still continuing the final number of idols immersed this year will only be available on Tuesday.
Both the Municipal Commissioner and the District Collector had repeatedly inspected arrangements at all the immersion venues and issued instructions to civic body employees to take all precautions for prompt, safe and respectful culmination of the festivities.
