The orientation program for a new batch of 120 trainees has commenced at the "Bokaro Diksha" center, a joint venture between Bokaro Steel Plant’s CSR and Dalmia Bharat Foundation. The initiative aims to develop the skills of youth from the peripheral villages of Bokaro, preparing them for dignified employment and self-employment opportunities.
Past batches of "Bokaro Diksha" have seen students secure promising employment opportunities in reputable institutions after completing their short-term courses. During the orientation program, alumni shared detailed accounts of their placements.
The curriculum at Bokaro Diksha aligns with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) standards. The courses offered include Sewing Machine Operator, Assistant Electrician, Solar Technician, Customer Relationship Management, and General Duty Assistant. Additionally, Bokaro Diksha is inviting applications from new students for trades in Electronics, Mechanical, and Fitter.
Institutions like Schneider Foundation and NABARD play a crucial role in generating employment for students trained under this initiative.
The orientation program was attended by Balram Panda, Senior General Manager HRD (DCBL); Philimon Bilung, District Development Manager (DDM) - NABARD; and Neeraj Tripathi, Senior Manager from BSL's CSR department.
