A special orientation session for health workers was held at Civil Hospital Hathaikheda on Saturday to review ongoing health programmes and improve campaign performance.
Information was provided on various health programmes, including the Pulse Polio Campaign, Swasth Campaign, Male Sterilisation Fortnight, Anmol Portal, and Ayushman cards for senior citizens.The meeting was attended by the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Dr Prabhakar Tiwari, and all nodal officers of the health programmes, Sub-Divisional Medical Officers, Public Health Managers, Supervisors, ANMs, and ASHA workers.
During the meeting, Dr Tiwari instructed that the process of issuing Ayushman cards for senior citizens be expedited. Sub-Divisional Medical Officers should coordinate with their respective authorities and civic officials to prioritise the task. Dr Tiwari also mentioned that the Male Sterilisation Fortnight would be held until December 4. He instructed the updating of the list of targeted couples, contacting the targeted couples to provide information on family planning methods, and ensuring that details about sterilisation hospitals and sterilisation days are communicated to beneficiaries.
The meeting also provided health workers with information regarding microplanning for the Pulse Polio Campaign, scheduled for December 8.
The session covered mobilisation, logistics management, vaccine storage and transportation, and reporting in detail.
During the Swasth Campaign, running until February 28, field health workers were instructed to conduct door-to-door checks for quick identification of pneumonia among children.
Furthermore, it was explained that cases of pneumonia should only be referred to higher institutions after administering the prescribed doses of Amoxicillin and Gentamicin.Dr Tiwari mentioned that the health department is conducting special programmes and campaigns for children, the elderly, and targeted couples."In line with this, health workers have been oriented to ensure beneficiaries receive services as per the prescribed departmental protocols. Providing services to the beneficiaries is our top priority, and punitive action will be taken against those who neglect their duties," he said.
