A one day Hindi workshop was organized by Union Bank of India (UBI), Regional Office Dhanbad. The program was presided over by Area Head Deepmala Lakra. Also, Deputy Area Head Umesh Chandra, Chief Manager Umesh Kumar, Chief Manager PN Rai and other executive members addressed all the participants.

Official Language In-Charge cum Narakas Dhanbad Secretary Dilip Kumar Singh from Bharat Coking Coal Limited was present as the Chief Guest. He made the participants aware of the constitutional provisions of the official language and praised the one day Hindi workshops organized by UBI at regular intervals.

Other sessions of the workshop were conducted by Manager Mahadev Das and Official Language Officer Sharda Sao and Simple Kumari as faculty. Rajbhasha Shabd Gyan competition was organized among 23 participants from all the branches of Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka and Pakur districts and the winning participants were awarded by the hands of Area Head Deepmala Lakra.

The main objective of the workshop was "Implementation of Rajbhasha in branches". The President of the program Lakra said that Hindi is the language of communication. “We should use Hindi spontaneously in our daily tasks. Hindi is the most capable language for communication and providing customer service. The first step to business growth is to connect with the customer in his mother tongue. Therefore, being a public sector bank, it is our moral and constitutional duty to complete as much office work as possible in Hindi,” she added.
