On the occasion of Malaria Day, the Department of Community and Family Medicine of AIIMS Bhopal organized a painting competition and poster competition for the students of St. Joseph's Co-Ed School and Seven Hills Public School, Sai Baba Nagar.
Professor (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal, said that that if we keep our surroundings clean and do not allow filth to breed, then even malaria mosquitoes will not breed and when there are no mosquitoes then how will malaria breed.
Therefore we should maintain cleanliness around us. If someone gets fever, get it checked immediately and do not be careless in treatment. The program was organized in collaboration with District Malaria Office, Bhopal. Children had special participation in these programs. Health education session using posters and flash card visuals was conducted by trainees and nursing students of AIIMS Bhopal. The winners of painting and poster making competitions were also awarded.
Dr. Arun M Kokane, head of the CFM department, while addressing the students, asked them to pay attention to cleanliness. The theme of Malaria Day this year is "Intensifying the fight against malaria for a more just world".
