An interesting turn has come in Jharkhand politics again. Nirmal Mahato, who won from Mandu, has decided to leave his seat for AJSU supremo Sudesh Mahato. He has said that he will soon resign from this seat and will also talk to Sudesh Mahato on this issue.
Nirmal, while giving the reason for this, said that Sudesh Mahato raises the issues of the common people in the assembly very well and there is no leader who raises issues like him.
Nirmal Mahato has defeated Congress's JP Patel in the election. AJSU's Nirmal Mahato became the winner of the lowest vote margin by winning the Mandu assembly seat by a margin of just 232 votes. A total of 13 candidates were in the fray for the Mandu Assembly seat in the 2024 Jharkhand Assembly election.
There were a total of 4,25,441 registered voters on the electoral rolls for the 2024 Assembly election in Mandu Assembly constituency, of which 2,17,792 were male, 2,07,638 female and 11 of the third gender.
In the 2019 Jharkhand Assembly elections, Jai Prakash Bhai Patel of BJP won in this seat defeating Nirmal Mahto of AJSUP by a margin of 2,062 which was 00.86 per cent the total votes cast for the seat. BJP had a vote share of 20.87 per cent in 2019 in this seat.
It is known that Silli Assembly constituency is the traditional seat of Jharkhand's strong leader Sudesh Mahto. Except for once, Sudesh Mahto has won from here every time. This time too, he is pitted against Amit Kumar of JMM. Sudesh Mahto has lost badly in the vote counting. Amit Kumar defeated him by a huge margin of 23879 votes.
This time there was a close fight between Sudesh Mahto, Amit Mahto and Devendra Mahto. Sudesh Mahto has also been the Deputy Chief Minister of the state. AJSU i.e. Sudesh Mahto's party has maintained its hold in this entire area but this time Amit Kumar has defeated him badly. Amit Kumar had the support of Congress and traditional voters of Jharkhand.
Sudesh Kumar has been an MLA from here four times. After the formation of Jharkhand, Sudesh Kumar Mahto won the election from here for the first time in 2000. Sudesh Kumar's party has an alliance with BJP. In 2009, there is a fight going on between Sudesh Kumar Mahto and JMM's Amit Kumar Mahto. In 2009, Sudesh Kumar won for the second time but in 2014, Amit Kumar Mahto snatched the victory from Sudesh and became MLA for the first time. However, in 2019, Sudesh Kumar regained his seat and has been defeating Amit Kumar since then. This time too, Sudesh Kumar is facing a challenge from Amit Kumar. However, with Devendra Mahato contesting from JLKM, the matter has become a triangle.
