A newly married woman committed suicide by hanging with the ceiling on Tuesday afternoon at Tara Sewania; reason of the suicide remained unclear.

The mother-in-law found  that her room was locked from inside and her 8-month-old daughter was crying lying under the hanging body. With the help of neighbours, the mother-in-law broke the gate of the room and took her to hospital. Where she was declared dead.

The deceased's brother Shravan Kushwaha told that Pooja Kushwaha (25) was his younger sister. We are residents of Raisen. Three years ago, Pooja married Santosh, it was a love marriage.

Brother-in-law Santosh, apart from farming, also does contractor work in Bhopal. Brother-in-law had left for work on Tuesday morning. Mother-in-law had gone to worship in the neighbourhood. Sister was alone at home, she had hanged herself in the afternoon.

Meanwhile Awadhpuri police have booked husband and mother-in-law of female clerk of Madhya Pradesh Textbook Corporation who committed suicide after being harrased.

Police investigation revealed that both the accused used to torture her due to anger over not getting the car and cash of their choice as dowry. Used to pressurize them to bring cash from their maternal home.

According to the police, Sushma Gaur was a clerk while her husband was posted in BHEL. The woman had committed suicide by hanging herself in her house on January 26.

During the investigation, the woman's mother, sister and father had accused her husband Ashish and her mother-in-law Rammati Bai of harassing her. She had told the police that after marriage, her husband and mother-in-law used to beat and torture her by demanding car and money as dowry.

Based on the statements of the victim, the police registered a case against both the accused. Now the police are searching for the absconding accused.
