: Nayagarh Motor Vehicle Inspector (MVI) Panchanan Behera was on Tuesday found in possession of properties worth crores of rupees, including 27 plots in Bhubaneswar, during raids by the Odisha Vigilance in connection with allegation against him regarding amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Out of the 27 plots, ten are benami, official sources said.
The following assets in the names of Behera and his family members have so far been unearthed.
1) A double-storied building located at Sailashree Vihar, Bhubaneswar.
2) A single-storied building located at Satya Vihar, Pandara, Bhubaneswar.
3) 27 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar. The measurement and valuation/ assessment of the buildings/ plots were being carried out by the Vigilance Technical Wing.
4) Bank, postal, insurance and other deposits.
5) Four benami four-wheelers and a two-wheeler.
Till last reports came in, the raids were underway while the total value of his movable and immovable properties was yet to be calculated.
