Chief Electoral Officer Shri K Ravi Kumar has said that for creating voting awareness among people in upcoming assembly elections, children of class 6-12 of all middle and higher schools of the state will write letters to their parents on Monday to vote. The letter writing program in schools will be held on October 28 between 11 am to 12 noon. All concerned have been instructed to implement this unique idea of voter awareness.
He said that before the children write the letters, the headmaster and teachers of the school will ensure to orient all the children on the need and importance of voting. After writing the letters within the stipulated time limit, all the children will take their letters home and hand them over to their parents and will also request them to vote on the day of voting.
