Good rainfall is being predicted for many parts of the State including the Capital city in the next few days. Some parts of Jharkhand are also likely to witness moderate showers over the weekend.

According to the information received from the Meteorological Centre, Ranchi widespread rainfall across Jharkhand of light to moderate category is predicted for July 6. Fairly widespread rainfall is expected for July 7 whereas scattered showers are on the cards for July 8 and July 9.

“There will be a slight decrease in rainfall over Jharkhand in the next few days. From July 10 onwards, monsoon will once again pick up over the State. Monsoon cannot always be strong and it is absolutely normal for it to be weak sometimes,” said Director MET Centre, Ranchi Abhishek Anand

As per the bulletin released by the MET Centre, Ranchi on July 5, from June 1, 2024 to July 5, 2024, Jharkhand has recorded a deficit of 50% in rainfall. The State has received a total of 118.5 mm of rainfall while the normal rainfall during this period should be 236.1 mm.

Ranchi has received a total of 128.7 mm of rainfall so far whereas Dhanbad has received 173.9 mm, Gumla 173.8 mm and Bokaro 113.7 mm of rainfall.

The official also stated that monsoon is likely to be strong in the months of July, August and September and hopefully the deficit will also be covered.

The maximum temperature in the State capital was observed at 29.2 degree Celsius which is 1 degree below normal. From July 6 to July 9, the maximum temperature in Ranchi and its surrounding areas will be around 30 degree Celsius while the minimum is expected to be at 23- 24 degree Celsius/
