Amid preparations for a happy and safe Diwali, the central region power distributor announced on Tuesday the deployment of 140 teams, comprising 1500 personnel, in the state capital to minimise downtime during the festive season.
The teams have been tasked with round-the-clock resolution of complaints between October 29 and November 01. Similar arrangements have also been made for all districts, blocks, and rural areas under the jurisdiction of the Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitran Company Limited (MKVVCL).
Equipped with Field Oriented Control (FOC) vehicles, safety equipment, and essential electrical materials and tools, these teams will work in three shifts to ensure a continuous and consistent electricity supply in the city.
MKVVCL stated that these special teams will operate across all 27 zones/distribution centres and all 33/11 substations within Bhopal city’s eastern, western, northern, southern, and Kolar divisions to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during the Diwali festival.
The power distributor emphasised that consumers may call the company’s call centre at 1912 to report power disruptions, which may also be reported to a dedicated WhatsApp number at 0755-2551222. Services at the call centre, headed by a junior engineer, will be available round the clock during this period.
In announcing this initiative, MKVVCL also conveyed Diwali wishes to consumers from Energy Minister Pradyumna Singh Tomar, Additional Chief Secretary for Energy Manu Srivastava, and MKVVCL Managing Director Kshitij Singhal.
