Readying the city for the arrival of tens of thousands of guests attending the annual Ijtema event on the outskirts of the state capital, metro rail workers were seen removing construction scaffolding on the Berasia road early on Friday morning.
Speaking on the development, organising committee members welcomed the move by the administration saying district authorities are clearing the way for smooth flow of traffic during the four day congregation.
The Bhopal Ijtema, now in its 77th year, will commence with early morning sermons on November 29, and conclude with lakhs gathering to pray for peace and prosperity on December 2.
Speaking of the removal of the Metro rail paraphernalia en-route to the Ijtema venue at Village Eintkhedi, committee spokesperson Omar Hafeez said, "we are appreciative of the timely intervention by the administration to pave the way for devotees joining the event from all over the world."
The organising committee said that the venue will have nearly 3000 mobile charging points with nearly 500 each in the four food zones. Additional charging points will be made available by BSNL near the makeshift tower.
A fully equipped media center will host journalists on all days of the event. The facility will have all facilities required for the media to send news updates and capsules from the venue. The Ijtema this year is spread across 600 acres, while 300 acres are dedicated to the canopy hosting guests, the other half is dedicated to parking, utilities and other facilities.
