Conducting a review of the mayoral helpline, Mayor Malti Rai on Tuesday directed officials to resolve outstanding grievances within 24 hours.
Since the last review on October 15, a total of 1,009 complaints were received, of which 514 have already been resolved, while work is currently underway for the satisfactory closure of 495 issues.
A majority of the civic grievances were related to malfunctioning streetlights and clogged sewage systems.
Mayor Rai also spoke to complainants and assured them of the civic body's commitment to prompt redress of complaints to avoid any inconvenience to residents."The administration is fully dedicated to addressing these issues swiftly and effectively," she said, emphasising that every complaint will be tackled with urgency.The initiative aims to provide relief to city residents, with the mayor personally overseeing the prompt and satisfactory resolution of civic issues.
The review came hours after the mayor toured several areas of the state capital on Monday and directed officials to initiate steps for the smooth flow of traffic in the old city.
