Just ahead of the implementation of the election Model Code of Conduct, the Jharkhand government has appointed 2018-batch IPS officer Manoj Swargiyari as the new Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bokaro. Swargiyari officially took charge on Tuesday.
Notably the previous SP, Pujya Prakash, had been on extended leave due to health issues, leaving the position vacant for some time. Given the critical need for law enforcement leadership during the upcoming Assembly elections to ensure a peaceful and fair process, the state government has entrusted Manoj Swargiyari, previously serving as the Railway SP in Dhanbad, with the responsibility of heading Bokaro's police force.
This move comes as an essential step in preparing for the smooth conduct of elections in the region.
