A man allegedly stabbed his former neighbour to death in east Delhi’s New Ashok Nagar after suspecting him of having an illicit relationship with his wife.
According to the police, the deceased has been identified as 33 year old Bachu Ram, a native of Sultanpur in Uttar Pradesh, who lost his life on Monday night. Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Apoorva Gupta said, “A person was brought to Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hospital by his distant relative 29 years old Amit, who on examination was declared dead on arrival by the doctors.”
She added that the deceased was working as peon in a company at Noida Sector 3 in Uttar Pradesh Ram's relative, Amit, told the police that he was attacked by his former neighbour with a knife.
“As per Amit, deceased was stabbed by his ex-neighbour S R/o Bihar, with stab injuries near the lower abdomen of the deceased,” the DCP stated.
"It is alleged that the accused suspected Ram of having an affair with his wife. On Monday night, under the influence of alcohol, the accused attacked Ram with a knife," the officer added.
The victim's body has been sent to the mortuary at LBS Hospital for post mortem examination.
