JMM terms Union Budget as ‘Budget for Special Class’

Wednesday, 24 July 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), on Tuesday, said that the general budget presented by Finance Minister Sitharaman is not made for the common people, but for the special people.

JMM Spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya said that this budget has come under the Prime Minister's chair bachao or power bachao scheme. “This budget is not for the Country at all. This budget shows how scared the Central Government is from itself. Due to this fear, special attention has been given to Andhra Pradesh. Along with this, the budget has also been focused on Bihar. Some attention has also been given to Odisha. This makes it seem as if the remaining 27 States are not even in this Country. BJP fought the recent elections without any issue only talked about communal things. The budget is also a reflection of that,” he added.

Bhattacharya said that the agriculture sector comes first in the budget. “In the previous budget, agriculture used to have 6.5 percent of the total amount. Today it has come down to 3.9 percent. There is no discussion of MSP in the budget. There was no discussion on this very important sector which fills the stomach. Only fruits and vegetables were discussed. The second important issue in the budget is employment. The Center presented the economic survey yesterday and said that the unemployment rate in the country is 3.2 percent. But CMIE is an associate organization of the Government. This agency also reports to the Reserve Bank of India. This agency estimates that the unemployment rate in the Country has reached 9.2. This is a big confusion. No new job or Government job was even announced,” he added.

The party Spokesperson also said that 30 lakh Government job positions are vacant in the Country. “There was no discussion regarding appointments on these. It was said in the budget that in the next 5 years, 1 lakh youth of the Country will be given permanent jobs in the big companies of the country and the salary will be Rs 5000. These will be permanent jobs. This means that every year only 20000 people will be given jobs and that too of Rs 5000. Those who have studied from IIT will also get jobs of Rs 5000. Those who have studied from ITI will also get jobs of Rs 5000. A lot of jobs can be created in the tourism sector. But no discussion was held on this sector. This budget is like telling a cancer patient to wear a bandage whereas cancer can be cured through surgery,” he added.

“When Finance Minister Sitharaman was reading the budget, she too was not able to understand what this budget was. There was no discussion on education. There was no discussion on health. If there was any discussion, it was on the fact that treatment will be expensive and gold will be cheap. People were told to buy as many mobiles as possible because its price has been reduced. There was no discussion on topics like inflation,” said Bhattacharya.

The JMM leader said that this budget is just a document prepared without any thought and without any proper idea. He said that this will increase unemployment in the Country. The difficulties faced by farmers will increase, he added.
