BJP's state spokesperson Pratul Shahdev on Thursday said that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha can live in a dream world until the results are declared on the evening of 23 November. Pratul said that it can make any claims, boast about it. But after the election results are declared, it is preparing to blame the EVMs for its defeat. The BJP leader was reacting to JMM spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharaya's claim that the JMM led alliance in State is going to win 59 seats in Jharkhand.
Pratul said that this is the first time that a party is issuing a document stating how many seats it will win and how many seats its rivals will lose. Pratul said that it is ridiculous that even in this document, wherever JMM is showing a tough fight, all those seats are Congress's share. That means they do not trust their alliance.
Pratul said that even though they are making big claims of victory on paper, in reality, the people of Jharkhand have completely rejected the most corrupt Hemant government in the history of Jharkhand. This government has only done looting, extortion and corruption in the last 5 years. Corruption has become a norm and has taken institutional form. The public was completely fed up with their breaking of promises. On 23 November, they are going to show them the way out. Pratul said that they are claiming victory on paper. The ground reality is that the public has completely shown the alliance the way out. They are going to face a crushing defeat even in Kolhan and Santhal Pargana divisions which they considered their strongholds.
The Bharatiya Janata Party is going to win many of those seats where it had never won since independence. There was a strong atmosphere in favor of the BJP and people were determined to oust the ruling party. Its result will be seen on 23 November when the NDA alliance will win with a two-thirds majority. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led alliance will be reduced to the lowest number of seats in its history.
The claim and counterclaim of both the alliance have come at the time when exit polls have not given a clear picture of the results. Dainik Bhaskar, Times Now-JVC and P-Marq predicted a hung assembly in Jharkhand, three exit polls - Matrize, Chanakya Strategies and Peoples Pulse - gave an edge to the NDA alliance while Axis My INDIA and Electoral Edge predicted a clear win for INDIA bloc in Jharkhand.
