The election results of Jharkhand have surprised everyone. The JMM led INDI Alliance in Jharkhand had not expected a two third majority, though Hemant Soren was confident of an absolute majority. The NDA Alliance led by BJP also expected an absolute majority but it was decimated like anything astonishing the NDA as well as the political analysts. The causes of this surprising result are not far to seek.
The most important cause of this surprising result was the extraordinary performance of JKLM led by Tiger Jai Ram Mahto which proved to be the spoilsport, especially for NDA. The AJSU lost its ground to JKLM and won only the seat of Mandu, that too by a razor thin margin. BJP won Latehar by a whisker. The Kurmi vote bank of AJSU was dented substantially and shifted to JKLM. The AJSU was badly mauled at the hustings and a dent in its Kurmi vote bank drastically affected BJP in many constituencies. The analysis of the data of election results in thirteen constituencies of Ichagarh, Jugsalai, Kanke, Kharsawan, Tamar, Ramgarh, Silli, Khijri, Chandankiari, Gomia, Sindri, Tundi, Nirsa, Bokaro, Giridih, Bermo, Dumri provides a tell tale effect of JKLM. Tiger Jai Ram Mahto is the dark horse who has upset all political calculations of political strategists and pundits. It is really astonishing that the political strategists of BJP and AJSU failed to guage the intensity of this silent menace as Tiger Jai Ram Mahto was not so dark a horse as JKLM had also fought parliamentary elections and got a reasonable number of votes.
The second silent killer was the quiet entry of Kalpana Soren in the politics of Jharkhand. Her entry in politics was circumstantial but she displayed an extraordinary political acumen. Her calm, cool and logical speeches conveyed the message to the masses that Hemant Soren had been wrongly framed by the investigating agencies. She also invoked the tribal pride and the tribal population identified her as a new tribal leader after Shibu Soren and Hemant Soren coming from the Soren clan. The tribal women were simply overwhelmed by her presence. She is well educated and a very good orator . She was successful in reading the pulse of the people and struck the chord of the masses. She is the real find of this election. Though it is too early to say, it appears that Tiger Jai Ram Mahto and his JKLM would replace AJSU. So, Tiger Jai Ram Mahto is another find of this election.
The BJP strategists poached Champai Soren but he couldn't bring about a dramatic change in the fortunes of NDA in the tribal region, which lost twenty seven seats out of twenty eight. Champai Soren was the only leader to win his seat in the tribal region. BJP will have to introspect what is wrong with it in the tribal region. There is no shortcut in politics. BJP will have to work hard to regain its lost ground in the tribal region.
The BJP strategy of relying on borrowed players and sidelining the devoted party workers alienated the grassroot workers and this alienation and indifference passed on to the committed vote bank of BJP. There was no worker at the booth level in a sizable number of booths to mobolize its committed voters to the booth on the polling day. Babu Lal Marandi does not have his former appeal. He always contests from general seats, instead of fighting from a reserved seat, which gives a wrong signal to the masses. His victory was ensured only after Niranjan Rai was managed and he withdrew from the electoral race. If the leader of the party is not confident of his victory, who will?
Therefore, the BJP should introspect itself. AJSU should examine its relevance. The win win situation is for JMM which has not only won, but has found a powerful leader in Kalpana Soren.
Life is a journey balanced on two wheels: happiness and sadness. Just as a vehicle moves forward on the axle of both sides, similarly, our life find momentum through moments of joy and sorrow. We often welcome happiness with open arms, while we shy away from sadness, forgetting that both are essential to our journey. It’s a truth we all know deep down that where there is light, there must be shadow. Yet, our mindset should always be one of acceptance, no mater the circumstance. We need to believe in ourselves and remember, ‘All is Well’.
No one in this world can live a life free of sorrows and challenges. We all have faced fair share of challenges in our life, yet there are those who always seem to complain about their life burdens.
They may say, “There is nothing but sorrow in my life,” and if you share a struggle of your own, they’ll respond with four more such stories. But we must ask ourselves— does lamenting over our sorrows ever bring us closer to a solution?
In my view, it does not. The more we focus on our pain, the larger it looms. Remember when we were children? A small scrape would have us wailing for hours, bringing the household to a standstill. Today, we silently shoulder even greater pains. Life is full of paradox. The more we dwell on our sorrows and weighed down by it, the heavier they will feel. But if you strengthen your mind against the negativities and manifest positive thoughts, you can definitely overcome the challenges with ease and clarity.
In the world we live on today, it’s difficult to find someone who will truly stand by you in times of distress. This reality makes it even more crucial to cultivate a resilient mindset. So, here’s a simple yet powerful philosophy for a happier life: keep your sorrows small, and your joys big. By adopting this habit, you will find that half of life’s problems simple vanish. Psychology supports this notion too. Dwelling on even fleeting sorrows can weaken your mind, trapping you in the circle f stress and anxiety. On the other hand, a person who finds joy in the little things approaches life’s greatest challenges with calm and clarity.
According to the ideology of spirituality, what we believe, we manifest. If we hold the belief that life is filled with sorrow, we invite more of it into our lives. Conversely, if we hold the faith that everything is good, even if times are tough, then we attract positivity and happiness. Life starts to feel lighter, and we draw in more reasons to smile.
So whether you are in the midst of joy or going through tough times, remember to stay positive, When someone asks you how you’re doing, respond with a smile, and say, “everything is fine”. By embracing this outlook, you not only uplift yourself but also inspire others to find strength in every situation.
Life is a long journey in which happiness and sorrow are skin to threads woven together. We do not have to unravel them, but appreciate the pattern they create, knowing that each moment they create, whether joyful or painful, adds depth and meaning to our life journey.
