The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) emerged victorious in the majority of the colleges of Delhi University in the Students' Union election results, with them sweeping all positions in five colleges while the while the National Students' Union of India (NSUI) captured all positions in two colleges.
A statement by the ABVP noted that at least 148 candidates backed by ABVP secured landslide victory in the polls carried out across the colleges of Delhi University. The results of elections, held in 52 colleges and departments of the Delhi University on September 27, were finally declared nearly after two months.
The ABVP achieved a clean sweep in five colleges including Hansraj College, Shyam Lal College (Evening), Vivekananda, Aurobindo and Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College while the NSUI captured all positions in two colleges. In the remaining institutions, the candidates from both student organisations emerged victorious in various posts, according to the data shared by them.
It also won one seat in Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur College, two in Miranda House, four in Ramjas College, two in Law Centre, one in Campus Law Centre, two in Satyawati College (Morning), two in Satyawati College (Evening), one in Lakshmibai College, eight in Rajguru College, four in Ambedkar College, four in Maharaja Agrasen College, one in Rajdhani College, five in Shivaji College, three in Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, four in BCAS Bhaskaracharya College and one in Bhagini Nivedita College.
On the other hand, the NSUI achieved a clean sweep in Aurobindo Evening College and Shyam Lal College. ABVP Delhi State Secretary Harsh Attri said, “These victories at college unions reaffirm ABVP's position as the most trusted student organization. This success is a result of our consistent presence at college campuses, engaging with the students round the clock.

As many as 14 CCTV cameras and 8 video cameras have been installed on the campus to monitor the votes in the Delhi University Students Union elections. Instructions have been given to conduct counting in two shifts in all colleges, departments, institutes, centres. Counting commenced at 8 am for the morning shift and at 2 pm for the evening shift
This year, the DUSU elections saw a significant turnout, with 51,379 votes cast from the 1.45 lakh eligible voters. The elections were held as scheduled on 27th September 2024. However, the counting process, originally set for 28th September, was delayed by the Delhi High Court due to allegations of public property defacement by candidates.
