Sardar Shailendra Singh, president of the Jharkhand State Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee, expressed profound grief over the demise of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, remembering him as an honest and hardworking leader who served the nation with dedication for a decade.
Recalling Dr. Singh's significant contributions to the country, Sardar Shailendra Singh highlighted his efforts to uplift India’s economic condition during a time of severe financial crisis. "There was a period when the country's gold had to be mortgaged, but Dr. Manmohan Singh worked tirelessly to restore and strengthen the economy," he remarked.
Emphasizing Dr. Singh’s integrity and leadership qualities, he stated, "No matter the political affiliations, leaders across party lines respected him, as he had no personal enemies in politics."
Sardar Shailendra Singh also reminisced about Dr. Singh's visit to Jamshedpur in 2005 for a public meeting at Aam Bagan. During that visit, the former Prime Minister had extended a special invitation to him, then the head of the Central Gurudwara, for a personal meeting.
