The ISCO Burnpur Steel Plant team has clinched the prestigious SAIL Cricket Championship title for the 2024-25 season. In the final match, held on November 30, ISCO Burnpur defeated Rourkela Steel Plant by a narrow margin of 9 runs to emerge victorious.
The closing ceremony was graced by Chief Guest C.R. Mahapatra, Executive Director In-Charge. Other distinguished attendees included Suresh Rangani (Executive Director, Finance and Accounts), C.R. Mishra (Executive Director, Materials Management), Laxmi Das (Chief General Manager, Technical), Kundan Kumar (Chief General Manager, Town Services), A.K. Avinash (General Manager, Public Health), and C.R.K. Sudhanshu (General Manager, Liaison and Administration). The event was attended by a large number of cricket enthusiasts.
In the semi-finals, ISCO Burnpur defeated Bokaro Steel Plant by 4 wickets, while Rourkela Steel Plant overcame Bhilai Steel Plant by the same margin. Rajesh Patel from ISCO Burnpur was declared both Man of the Match and Man of the Series for his exceptional performance throughout the tournament.
The Chief Guest and other dignitaries presented the winners' trophy to the ISCO Burnpur team and congratulated them on their well-deserved victory.
