The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday said the INDIA bloc of opposition parties will hold a rally on July 30 at the Jantar Mantar to raise the issue of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's declining health inside the Tihar jail. "The INDIA bloc will hold a big rally at Jantar Mantar on July 30 to raise the issue of Kejriwal's falling health," the AAP said. The Aam Aadmi Party has been accusing the BJP of "conspiring to kill" Kejriwal in jail and cited his medical report to show that his sugar levels had fallen 26 times between June 3 and July 7.
In a related development, a city court has extended the judicial custody Kejriwal in money laundering and corruption cases related to the alleged excise scam.Special Judge Kaveri Baweja extended Kejriwal's custody in a money laundering case, being probed by the Enforcement Directorate, till July 31, while his judicial custody in a corruption case, lodged by the CBI, was extended till August 8.
The judge also extended the judicial custody of Aam Aadmi Party leader and former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader K Kavitha and other accused till July 31 in the money laundering case. Kejriwal were produced before the court through video conference.
The party, a constituent of the INDIA bloc, has been accusing the BJP-led central government and Lt Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena of playing with Kejriwal's life.During a press conference, Atishi was asked about the rally and she hit out at the BJP over the chief minister's declining health.
