Independence Day Celebrations: District heroes honored for excellence

The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with great fervor and patriotism at the district-level main function organized at Gopal Maidan, Bistupur. The occasion was graced by the Minister of Health, Medical Education, Family Welfare, and Food Supply, Public Distribution, and Consumer Affairs Department, Jharkhand Government,  Banna Gupta, who attended as the chief guest.

In the presence of a large and enthusiastic crowd, Minister  Banna Gupta hoisted the national flag, the tricolor waving proudly against the morning sky. He inspected the parade platoon and saluted the national flag, marking the commencement of the ceremony. The event was attended by key district officials, including District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal, Senior Superintendent of Police  Kishore Kaushal, Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar, Project Director ITDA  Dipankar Chaudhary, and Rural Superintendent of Police  Rishabh Garg, among others. The celebration saw the participation of numerous residents from across the district, all coming together to commemorate India's independence.

During his address, Minister  Banna Gupta extended heartfelt congratulations and wishes to the residents of Jharkhand and the district. He paid tribute to the countless freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s independence. “We salute the brave sons who gave everything for Mother India,” said  Gupta. He highlighted the significant contributions of Jharkhand’s heroes, including Bhagwan Birsa Munda and Shaheed Tilka Manjhi, whose courageous actions played a pivotal role in India’s struggle for freedom.

Reflecting on the current government's efforts,  Gupta emphasized the commitment of the state government under Chief Minister  Hemant Soren to accelerate development works. He outlined the various initiatives undertaken for the welfare of the people, such as the Savitribai Phule Kishori Samridhi Yojana, which promotes girl child education, and the Chief Minister Swarojgar Yojana, aimed at connecting the youth with employment opportunities. He also mentioned the Sarvajan Pension Scheme and the Jharkhand Chief Minister Maiyan Samman Yojana, which benefit a large section of society.

The Minister further acknowledged the government's decisive actions during the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the state’s efforts to strengthen healthcare services and support the public in challenging times.

In recognition of excellence across various fields, the  Minister presented citations to officers and personnel who had demonstrated outstanding work in education, health, sports, election management, and policing. The commanders and participants of the parade platoon were also honored for their disciplined display during the event.

The celebrations were mirrored across the district with flag hoisting ceremonies conducted at various significant locations. At the Sectoral Office and Residential Office of the Deputy Commissioner, the flag was hoisted by District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal. The Senior Superintendent of Police,  Kishore Kaushal, led the flag hoisting at the SSP Office and Police Line. Similar ceremonies were conducted at the District Public Relations Office, Sub-Divisional Office, Block Headquarters, and educational institutions across the district.
