Purohit greets people on New Year eve

HP Governor, CM felicitates people on New Year
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla and Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Sunday felicitated the people of the State on the eve of New Year-2024. The Governor expressed hope that the new year would bring abundance of good health and happiness in the lives of the people and Himachal Pradesh would witness more progress in all spheres. Chief Minister Sukhu also expressed hope that with the people’s active participation, the hill state will scale new heights in every sphere of development in the Year-2024.
Hayer releases Sports University’s New Year Calendar
Chandigarh: Punjab Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer on Sunday released the New Year calendar on the eve of the New Year, highlighting Punjab’s sporting achievements. The calendar has been prepared by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh Punjab Sports University, Patiala, in which all the award winning sportspersons of Punjab have been included. Two calendars have been prepared — one wall calendar and the other table calendar. Hayer said that so far, Punjab’s players have won four Padma Bhushan, 24 Padma Shri, four Khel Ratna, 129 Arjuna Awards, 15 Dronacharya Awards, 21 Dhyan Chand Awards, and five Tenzing Norgay Awards; and all 202 awardees have been included in the calendar.
Janata Darbar: Vij directs officials to address public grievances
Chandigarh: Haryana Home and Health Minister Anil Vij, addressed public grievances at his residence on Sunday, issued directives to the officials concerned for necessary action. A complainant from Kaithal shared an unfortunate incident where his brother fell victim to an agent's deception, leading him to be sent to Belarus instead of Portugal. Having paid approximately Rs five lakh in installments, the brother was promised a journey to Portugal but found himself stranded in the forests of Belarus. The Home Minister promptly directed formation of SIT to look into the matter and initiate an investigation.
Hry announces new initiative for workers
Chandigarh: Haryana Principal Secretary, Labour Department, Rajeev Ranjan on Sunday announced a significant initiative for the welfare of the labourers and workers in the state. The new system aims to streamline the application process for welfare schemes provided by the Haryana Labour Welfare Board and Haryana Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board. Ranjan said that the newly-launched information system will furnish comprehensive details to beneficiaries of both boards, offering clear explanations for rejected applications through SMS notifications. Workers will now receive specific reasons for rejection, including information on document deficiencies or incomplete submissions. He said that every rejected application will now be accompanied by detailed SMS explanations, clarifying grounds for rejection, such as document inadequacies or incomplete information.
CAG organizes special session for telecom customers
Chandigarh: Citizens Awareness Group, in collaboration with Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), on Sunday organized a special session on ‘Telecom Consumers Outreach Program’ to create awareness about rights and duties of telecom customers at Sector 22 Community Center, attended by large number of telecom consumers, representatives of telecom service providers, representatives from consumer organizations. Senior Telecom officers also participated in the program.
