water supply to be hit in outer north district today
New Delhi : There will be no water supply in parts of Delhi's Outer North district for 18 hours from Wednesday 10 am, due to maintenance work, the Delhi Jal Board said. According to a statement issued, the affected areas include Bawana Village and surrounding colonies, Sultanpur Dabas Village, Pooth Khurd Village, Barwala Village, Majra Dabas Village, Chandpur Village, the area under Ward 35 Kanjhawala and Ward 36 Rani Khera, and their adjoining areas.
ggsipu students, faculty clean up city streets
New Delhi : Over 200 students of National Service Scheme (NSS) and faculty members of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) cleaned up the streets and other public places in the nearby Pochanpur village under the ‘Swachhta Abhiyan 4.0’ titled ‘Swachhta hi Seva hai’. The drive was carried out in collaboration with the MCD sanitation workers, local community members, GGSIPU students and staff. GGSIPU has adopted two villages of Amberhai and Pochanpur under its outreach program with a commitment to enhance the quality of life for village residents.
namo bharat book fair organised at RRts station
New Delhi : The National Capital Region Transport Corporation will organise a three-day Namo Bharat book fair at Ghaziabad RRTS station. The fair, hosted in collaboration with the National Book Trust, will be held at the concourse level, gate number-4. According to the statement the entry is free for all and it will take place from Wednesday to Friday between 10 am and 7 pm. The collection will also feature bilingual books, scientific publications, creative writing series, and titles from the PM Yuva series, catering to readers of all ages and interests. Visitors will have access to inspiring stories, educational content, and a variety of genres with special 10 per cent discount available on all purchases during the fair (terms and conditions apply), it added.
inspector, si arrested for bribery
New Delhi : The CBI arrested an inspector and a sub-inspector posted at the Burari police station here for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10 lakh on Tuesday, officials said. The agency nabbed Sub-Inspector Bhupesh Kumar while he was receiving a part payment of Rs 10 lakh of a total demand of Rs 1.5 crore on behalf Inspector Sandeep Ahlawat, the officials said.
