Farmers will be given subsidy on diesel: Bhupinder Hoooda

Adampur: Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh Hooda on Tuesday said that the BJP came to power by lying about doubling the income of farmers by 2022 but increased the cost manifold by increasing the rates of diesel, fertilizers and medicines. “Instead of giving MSP, farmers were entangled in portals and given dates after dates for purchase of crops. When the Congress government is formed, farmers will be given a legal guarantee of MSP with a fair price and anti-people portals will be closed,” he said. “Farmers will also be given subsidy on diesel. Apart from this, women will be given honorarium of Rs 2,000 per month, LPG cylinder for 500 rupees, 300 units of free electricity, old age pension of Rs 6000, plots of 100 square yards and two room house, OPS to employees, two lakh permanent recruitments will be done on merit. The creamy layer of backward class will be increased from Rs 6 to Rs 10 lakh,” he promised. Speaking at a public meeting organised in support of Congress candidate Chandraprakash (IAS retd) in Anaaj Mandi of Adampur, Hooda said that Congress had ended the contract system and BJP itself became a contractor. “By running Kaushal Rojgar Nigam, youth have been exploited by recruiting contract workers without merit, without reservation, without pension and on meagre salary. “Kaushal Rojgar Nigam became a den of corruption and jobs were sold here like in a grocery shop. Through this corporation, BJP looted the reservation of Dalits and backward classes. As a result, two lakh sanctioned government posts are lying vacant in the state. Congress will fill them with complete transparency and merit under the recruitment schedule. Along with this, a policy will be made to regularize workers of the Kaushal Nigam, and give them proper salary,” he added.

BJP, Congress, their alliance partners ‘anti-reservation parties’: Mayawati

Yamunangar: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati said that it was necessary to remove the BJP and Congress parties from power to save reservation as these parties and their alliance partners were anti-reservation parties. She said that both the parties were conspiring to end reservation. “Honourable Supreme Court gave a verdict in August 2024 holding that states are constitutionally empowered to make sub-classifications within the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. The BJP government at the centre, the Congress and other political parties should have advocated properly in the court against the judgment, which they did not,” alleged former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Mayawati. The BSP leader was addressing an election rally in Chhachhrauli town of Jagadhri Assembly constituency to seek votes for Darshan Lal Khera, who is contesting the Assembly election on INLD-BSP alliance ticket. Alliance candidates Dilbag Singh from Yamunanagar Assembly constituency, Dharam Pal Tigra from Raduar Assembly constituency and Brijpal Chhappar from Sadhaura Assembly constituency were also present in the rally.

Voters made up their minds to form a Congress govt in Haryana: Kumari Selja

Chandigarh: Congress leader and Sirsa MP Kumari Selja on Tuesday said that during the ten years of BJP's rule, corruption, unemployment, inflation, and the exploitation of farmers and women were rampant. In these ten years, BJP has distanced itself from the public, failing to build the necessary political connection. This is why today, the voters of the state are looking towards Congress and have decided to form a Congress government. Speaking to the media, Selja said that winning and losing is a different matter, but the political connection that should have been established with the public was not visible in BJP. The public gradually distanced itself from BJP. This disconnect was visible neither in cities nor in villages. BJP only made promises for ten years, and the public remained troubled. The most rampant issue under BJP's rule was corruption at every level, which pushed the common person further down. It is heartbreaking to see the increasing unemployment, drug abuse, and exploitation of women in the state. The youth are wandering in search of jobs, preparing for competitive exams, only to find out the exam papers were leaked. BJP’s term saw a record number of paper leaks. There are two lakh vacant posts in the state, which the government should have filled 100 per cent, but BJP did not, forcing the youth to migrate to other states or even abroad in search of employment.

Ahead of poll, Hry CM Saini approves Ram Rahim's 20-day parole

Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini cleared the 20-day parole application of rape and murder convict Gurmeet Ram Rahim here on Tuesday. It has been forwarded to the Divisional Commissioner, Rohtak, for further action. Sources said after the Dera Sacha Sauda chief's application was cleared by the Chief Minister, it was sent to the Prisons Department, which further forwarded it to the Divisional Commissioner. He will be released after getting the mandatory clearance from the local administration in Uttar Pradesh's Bagpat, where he will stay during the parole period. The Election Commission had, on Monday, allowed the government to "consider" the dera chief's application ahead of the Assembly poll scheduled for October 5 in Haryana.

Kiran Choudhry silent on parole to Ram Rahim, targets Hooda for lies, false promises

Bhiwani: Rajya Sabha MP, Kiran Choudhry has chosen to remain silent on the issue of the grant of parole to Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, stating that it is a legal matter and she prefers not to comment on it.  She remarked, “This is a legal process, and it is better not to speak on this.” She suggested that Congress was raising the issue only because they had nothing to say. “The Congress will crib about it. When they have nothing left to say, they raise this issue. The truth will come out, and the law is doing its job. What can I say about it,” she said. Continuing her tirade against the Congress, Choudhry targeted Bhupinder Singh Hooda, accusing him of misleading the people of Haryana. "The manifesto of Congress has been prepared by Hooda. Their guarantees are built on lies, fraud, corruption, and plundering. Everything else is just a facade," she remarked. Choudhry, who was in Bhiwani campaigning for her daughter Shruti Choudhry who is contesting from the Tosham Assembly seat on a BJP ticket, expressed confidence in her daughter’s success in the elections, claiming that she would win by a significant margin. “Shruti Choudhry would win by a margin of 40,000 votes,” she asserted.
