Himachal CM pays tribute to Kargil Martyrs on Vijay Diwas

Shimla: Remembering the valor and supreme sacrifice of the Kargil Martyrs on Vijay Diwas, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Friday expressed his profound respect and gratitude to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the sovereignty and integrity of the nation. In a message, he extended heartfelt gratitude to the Kargil Martyrs on behalf of the people of the State. He said that they sacrificed their lives for the cause of the Nation and fought bravely, facing the harsh and lifeless mountains and cold deserts during the 1999 Kargil War. Sukhu also paid homage to the courage and dedication of the Indian armed forces and highlighted the sacrifices made by 52 brave hearts from Himachal Pradesh.

Haryana Cabinet meeting on August 5

Chandigarh: The Haryana Cabinet meeting will be held under the Chairmanship of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on August 5 at Haryana Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh, a Government spokesperson said on Friday.

Hry ACB arrests Horticulture Officer and two others in Jind 

Chandigarh: The Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) team on Friday arrested Horticulture Officer Vijay Pannu, private individual Kulwant, and driver Pawan in Jind for accepting a bribe of Rs 500,000. The bribe was being taken from the complainant in exchange for providing a subsidy for setting up a polyhouse under a state government scheme. A Government spokesperson informed that the ACB received a complaint where the complainant stated that he had installed a polyhouse under a state government scheme operated by the Horticulture Department, which provides subsidies for such installations. The complainant reported that District Horticulture Officer Vijay Pannu demanded Rs 500,000 as a bribe to facilitate the subsidy. The ACB team, after verifying the facts, planned a sting operation and caught the accused private individual Kulwant and driver Pawan red-handed while accepting the bribe.

Hry Civil Aviation Minister inaugurates beautification projects worth Rs 46 lakhs in Hisar

Chandigarh: Haryana Minister of Civil Aviation and Health Kamal Gupta on Friday inaugurated various projects in Hisar Assembly constituency. Symbols of national pride have been installed at various squares in Hisar. He said that he is committed to undertaking as many development projects as possible in the city. The development achieved by the Haryana government over the last 10 years has been possible due to the double-engine government. Gupta inaugurated three beautification projects worth Rs. 46 lakhs in Hisar today. He stated that the government has been focusing on uniform development of the state over the past 10 years. The Municipal Corporation is rapidly carrying out development and beautification works in the city.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal to embark on 2-day election campaign in Hry for AAP from today

Chandigarh: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal will campaign for AAP in Ambala, Bhiwani and Rohtak during a two-day Haryana tour, the Party announced on Friday. Assembly elections in Haryana are due later this year. "Sunita Kejriwal will begin a two-day tour of the state from Saturday. She will visit Ambala, Bhiwani and Rohtak," the party said. Last week, Sunita Kejriwal announced the 'Kejriwal ki Guarantee' during a programme in Panchkula. In the Lok Sabha elections, which AAP contested in an alliance with the Congress in Haryana, its state unit chief  Sushil Gupta was defeated by the BJP's Naveen Jindal in the Kurukshetra seat.

Budget ignored Hry; People will ignore BJP in upcoming Assembly elections: Cong

New Delhi/Chandigarh: Several Congress MPs from Haryana on Friday protested in the Parliament complex for the government's alleged neglect of the state in the Union Budget and said people will similarly ignore the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections there. Rohtak MP Deepender Hooda claimed that the Budget has made no provision for Haryana. "Is Haryana not part of the country? Let me tell that people will ignore the BJP in the polls in the same manner the Budget has ignored the state," Hooda said. The assembly polls in the BJP-ruled state are expected to be held in October.

18 dengue cases reported in Gurugram

Gurugram: Gurugram district health department has recorded 18 fresh dengue cases till Thursday. A 32-year-old woman was found suffering from dengue in Gurugram on Thursday. The district surveillance officer of the health department, Dr JP Singh, said the total count of dengue patients had increased to 18. He said 63 blood samples were collected from the suspected patients for analysis. A total of 2,012 samples had been collected for analysis during the current season. Patients who were diagnosed with dengue complained of high fever, sweating, headache, vomiting, abdominal pain, muscle pain and traces of blood in their stool.

Physical Measurement Test for female Constable Posts begins

Chandigarh: The Chairman of the Haryana Staff Selection Commission Himmat Singh on Friday said that the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) for the recruitment of 1,000 female constables (General Duty) in the Haryana Police began today at the Tau Devi Lal Sports Complex in Sector 3, Panchkula. Singh, providing information in this regard, mentioned that female coaches from the sports department have been assigned duty for the PMT. Apart from it, other experts are overseeing the entire process. The commission has also established a separate help desk to address grievances.

Central Govt did not give budget to big projects of Hry despite approval: Dushyant Chautala

Chandigarh: Senior Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala on Friday described the Union Budget as extremely disappointing considering the election year of Haryana. He said that the budget was limited only to Bihar and Andhra Pradesh, while despite the approval of the government, big projects of Haryana did not get a place in the budget. Talking to reporters, Chautala said that the Central Government did not give budget to the proposed Rs 3500 crore Hisar-Rewari Highway project of Haryana which had administrative approval, but in the state of Bihar, where 11 bridges collapsed in 10 days, a special budget of Rs 36 thousand crore was given only for the development of roads.
