The Indian Institute of Forest Management (IIFM), Bhopal celebrated its 43rd Foundation Day with great fervour and enthusiasm. The event, held was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Dr. K Ravichandran, Director of IIFM, Dr. R.B. Lal, Dr. Ram Prasad and Dr. B.P. Pethiya, Former Directors of IIFM and Dr. P.K. Biswas, Vice Chancellor of JLU. The celebration witnessed the participation of distinguished IFS officers from various states, students, faculty members, officers and staff members of the institute.
In his inaugural address, Dr. K Ravichandran underscored the remarkable achievements of IIFM over the years. He attributed the institute's success to the concerted efforts of its former directors, culminating in outstanding performance in admissions and placements. Dr. Ravichandran announced that IIFM has recently attained deemed to be university status, a testament to its continuous progress and dedication to excellence. He further shed light on the plans to introduce four new courses in the coming years, with one course slated to commence by the end of the current year, aimed at enhancing the institute's contributions to environmental conservation and sustainable development.
Acknowledging the pivotal role played by the institute's Alumni Association and former students across diverse fields, Dr. Ravichandran commended their significant contributions. He highlighted the widespread presence of IIFM alumni in various sectors, emphasizing their indispensable role in national development.
The event was graced by the presence of distinguished speakers, Sandeep Chakraborty, President of IIFMs Alumni Association and Ambassador of India to Indonesia & Timor-Leste, and Dr Muralee Thummarukudy, Director of UNCCD G20 Global Land Initiative.
As a token of appreciation, Dr. Ravichandran felicitated all the distinguished guests with mementoes, symbolizing gratitude for their invaluable contributions to the institute's journey.
