Garhwa police on Monday recovered a large quantity of foreign liquor from Bilaspur check post under Banshidhar Nagar police station area on Monday. Police have also seized two Bolero vehicles carrying liquor.
Police have taken this action on the basis of a secret information given to Superintendent of Police, Garhwa Deepak Kumar Pandey and recovered a large quantity of liquor. The Superintendent of Police had received secret information that two Bolero vehicles were carrying illegal foreign liquor. In light of the information, the Superintendent of Police formed a police team under the leadership of Banshidhar Nagar SDPO Satyendra Narayan Singh. The formed raiding team started checking at Bilaspur check post. During the checking, two Bolero vehicles were coming from Windamganj (UP) at a very high speed, but on seeing the checking by the police at Bilaspur check post, the drivers of both the Bolero vehicles whose registration numbers are BR 01 PF 0704 and BR 29 M 1908 turned their vehicles back and started running away. The raiding team chased the vehicles and caught three persons while two persons managed to escape.
On interrogating the three arrested persons, it was revealed that they were taking the illegal foreign liquor from Renukoot (Uttar Pradesh) to Bihar by modifying the roof of the vehicle and tightening it with nuts and bolts. Thereafter, on closely checking both the Bolero vehicles, it was found that the roofs of the vehicles had been modified by cutting them and tightened with nuts and bolts and on opening the nuts and bolts, the roof of the vehicle opened up. There is a container on the roof of the vehicle, on which about 2000 pouches of illegal foreign liquor "Officer's choice" 180 ml were found, which were duly seized.
Arrested accused have been identified as Nitish Kumar, resident of Patehiya village under Hajipur police station area of Vaishali district, Narayan Sahni, at village Sumer Patti under Dariyapur police station of Saran district and Vivek Kumar, hailed from Bishunpur village under Dighwara police station of the Saharanpur district all state of Bihar.
Police recovered around 2000 pouches measuring 180ml each of "Officer's choice" foreign liquor. Police also seized two using carrying the wine.
