In a unique move to encourage voter turnout, District Election Officer (DEO) and Deputy Commissioner (DC) Vijaya Jadhav launched a hot air balloon in the skies over the District Collectorate premises, aiming to inspire residents to vote in the upcoming elections on November 20, 2024. Joined by other officials, the collective balloon launch was part of a series of activities organized by the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign to boost voter awareness across the district.
The colorful hot air balloon, adorned with voter awareness slogans and the polling date, ascended nearly 70 meters, symbolizing a call for all citizens to participate in the democratic process. “This initiative is a visual reminder for everyone to exercise their voting rights,” said DC Vijaya Jadhav. She encouraged those present to not only vote but also to inspire family and community members to join in.
In a simultaneous event, another hot air balloon was launched at the Sub-Division Office in Chas by Sub-Divisional Officer Pranjal Dhanda, DCLR Prabhash Dutta, and other officials, reinforcing the district's commitment to voter education.
Notably with polling set to take place across four constituencies—34 Gomia, 35 Bermo, 36 Bokaro, and 37 Chandankiyari—the district administration is actively engaging in innovative efforts to increase voter participation and ensure a successful election day.
