Thursday, 08 August 2024 | PNS | Ranchi

The State government is making efforts at its own level for TB elimination. If the corporate sector actively participates in this campaign, we can get success soon. Therefore, cooperation is expected from the corporate sector, said Health Minister Banna Gupta at the inauguration of the state level adult BCG vaccination and the felicitation ceremony of TB free Panchayat organized under the National Tuberculosis Eradication Program in the auditorium of IPH located in Namkom.

Gupta said that there are big corporate sectors in the state, which have industries, they are cooperating in the vaccination campaign and other schemes by adopting panchayats and blocks at the institutional level. If these corporate houses adopt one district each and work, then we can achieve the pride of being TB free, Kala Azar and Filaria free like polio free India before the target. He said that America had made itself TB free 100 years ago.

The Health Minister said that Jharkhand is a poor and backward state. Here, mostly poor people suffer from diseases like Kala Azar, Filaria, TB. We have progressed a lot towards the elimination of Kala Azar. Very few tribal areas have diseases like Kala Azar left and they will be controlled soon. Incidents of snake bites happen in Jharkhand, due to which many times the poor people die due to lack of information. We have to be aware about this.

Principal Secretary of the Health Department Ajoy Kumar Singh said that the Tuberculosis Eradication Program is being run in all the 24 districts of the state. The corporate sector and the Panchayat Mukhiya and Sarpanch have done a good job. He asked the Civil Surgeon of the district associated with the campaign to work to make this campaign successful in all the proposed districts.

Singh said that the cooperation of the private sector has always been received and more cooperation is expected. He said that the Central Government has also given instructions to increase the expenditure in CSR activities. In this regard, you should also increase the expenditure. If the state government and the corporate sector work together, then the path will become easier.
