A five-day orientation workshop started from July 25 at Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC), Namkum for the teachers and HMs of 80 Chief Minister Schools of Excellence and 325 Block Level Model Schools running in the State. The workshop was inaugurated by the Secretary of the State Government's School Education and Literacy Department Umashankar Singh. Jharkhand Education Project Director Aditya Ranjan and Secondary Education Director Utkarsh Gupta were also present for the inaugural session.

Addressing the orientation workshop, Singh said that SA 1 and SA 2 will be conducted twice a year through JAC and that the State will get its formal data. Singh also said that the aim of the education department is to increase the learning outcome of children. NEP talks about holistic development. It is necessary to work on every aspect of professional and skill education. Along with teachers, officials are also responsible for improving the educational environment of schools. If the results are not satisfactory, then strict action will be taken against both teachers and officials.

Singh also stated that there should be 100 percent result in ideal schools. Many schools have also achieved the target of 100 percent result this year. Teachers of such schools will be rewarded. He gave a strict warning to the officials and teachers that formality in the name of education will not be tolerated at any cost.

The Education Secretary said that before taking action against teachers, training will be given but after that, if the situation does not improve, the department will definitely take action. Addressing all the HMs, Singh said that the excuse of shortage of teachers in schools will not work and efforts are being made to appoint teachers continuously in the State. If the HM is not interested in the management of the school and its studies, then inform us and further work will be done. Discipline is necessary in the school and HM should ensure that there is better coordination among the teachers. Singh also directed JEPC Director Aditya Ranjan to develop a mechanism for data collection of RAIL SA 1 and SA2.

In the last week of August, 2024, the report card of 80 Chief Minister Schools of Excellence and 325 block level Model Schools operating in the State will be released. These schools will be evaluated on several parameters on a total of 2000 marks. This report card will be issued every month. Report cards of 405 schools will be issued in August. In its second phase from the month of November, report cards of all +2 schools will be made. Report cards of all schools (except classes 1-5) will be issued by March 2025. School report cards will be issued at the end of every month and schools performing better will be encouraged.

On the first day of the orientation workshop, an online assessment test was conducted for teachers and principals from across the State. Teachers from various subjects participated in the online assessment test of total 25 marks. In this online assessment test all the questions were objective and one mark was given for every correct answer while negative marking was also done for every wrong answer. After the online assessment test, its results were also declared in the presence of teachers. Teachers have performed well in the assessment test.
