District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuar recommended disciplinary action against Ramkanda CO Anil Ravidas for submitting a wrong report on the C Vigil portal related to elections. An FIR has also been registered against Bhawanathpur MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi for violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
In the case of implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the Assembly General Elections 2024, a video clip was uploaded on the portal on October 16 by a person named Jaiprakash Yadav from Pundag of Ramkanda block. In it, some women are standing with sarees in their hands. She is saying that this saree has been given by Rajkishore Mukhiya. In the light of the said complaint, the District Election Officer directed the concerned Circle Officer to submit a report immediately after investigation on the complaint.
Anil Ravidas, Circle Officer Ramkanda was deputed in Shift B of Ranka-Ramkanda block, the second flying squad of 80-Garhwa Assembly Constituency. It was his responsibility to investigate and submit a correct report with facts in the light of the above complaint. He accepted the online complaint and investigated it. He gave an online reply. He said that this is wrong information. No such activity has taken place. Along with this, a photo of the road was also uploaded.
After the reply uploaded by him, the complaint was dropped online by the Sub-Divisional Officer Garhwa -cum- Returning Officer 80-Garhwa Assembly on the basis of the investigation report . After that, the District Election Officer considered the point of submitting the report after investigation in a short time as doubtful and directed the said Circle Officer to investigate again and take action. In the light of the above, the CO lodged an FIR in Ramakanda Police Station against the Rajkishore Mukhiya.
Another FIR has been registered in a similar case. After the announcement of the election, prohibitory orders have been issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer -cum- Returning Officer Shri Banshidhar Nagar Prabhakar Mirdha. During the tour of the area, Sub-Divisional Officer found , the Ashirwad Rath Yatra program was being conducted by the local MLA Bhanu-Pratap Shahi (Bharatiya Janata Party) by vehicle number UP 81-CT 0139 without the permission of the Returning Officer (81-Bhawanathpur Assembly). This was considered a violation of the Model Code of Conduct.
An FIR has been registered against the local MLA under various relevant sections of violation of the Model Code of Conduct. The District Election Officer has appealed to the people of the district not to make any mistake of any kind during the Assembly General Election 2024 so that the Model Code of Conduct is violated. If a complaint comes from anywhere in this regard, then strict action will be taken against those violating the Model Code of Conduct under relevant sections.
