District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Jamuar and Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey, conducted a raid in the divisional jail of Garhwa late on Thursday night. The raid team included Additional Collector Raj Maheshwaram, Garhwa Sub-Divisional Police Officer Neeraj Kumar, DTO Dheeraj Prakash, DSO Ramgopal Pandey, Executive Magistrate, Garhwa Police Station In-charge and a large number of police personnel.
In this operation that lasted for more than two hours, all the wards, all the cells, canteen and other areas of the jail were thoroughly inspected. No objectionable material was recovered during the raid. During this, the Deputy Commissioner became aware of the various food items and other facilities given to the prisoners. On the spot, he gave many important instructions to the jail officials.
