The foundation day of eight states and 4 union territories, including the Madhya Pradesh Foundation Day was celebrated at Raj Bhawan today. The Foundation Day of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Karnataka, Kerala, Punjab, Delhi, and Tamil Nadu and the Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Chandigarh, Lakshadweep and Puducherry was ceremoniously celebrated at the event. At the outset, a short film on the cultural, social, and geographical splendour of Madhya Pradesh was screened.
Foundation Day of various states is organized at Raj Bhavan, Madhya Pradesh in a programme ‘Celebration of Integrity’ on the instructions of Governor Mangubhai Patel. In this series, residents of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Andhra Pradesh, and natives of Union Territory Ladakh participated in a programme at Raj Bhawan. The participants in the programme briefed the gathering on the cultural, historical, and archaeological splendour of their states. They expressed gratitude to the Governor for organizing the foundation day of the states and exchanged greetings.
Additional Secretary to the Governor, Umashankar Bhargava welcomed the natives of different states and congratulated everyone on the Foundation Day. He said that unity in diversity is the specialty of Indian culture.
Every countryman has an identity. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should work unanimously and unitedly for Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat. This is the intention of the event. On behalf of the Governor, he gave souvenir copies of pictures of the tribal art of Madhya Pradesh to the natives participating in the programmes of other states. Lunch was organized at the end of the programme. The programme was conducted by Controller Household, Smt. Shilpi Diwakar. The vote of thanks was proposed by Librarian Amit Dixit.
