Collector and District Election Officer Neeraj Kumar Singh has suspended Food Safety Officer BS Devliya for distributing low quality food during the counting of Lok Sabha Elections-2024.
On receiving a complaint of low quality food during the counting of votes, Collector Singh checked the quality of food. During the investigation, it was found that the quality of the food packets brought for distribution to the officers / employees engaged in the counting of votes was very low.
On this, as per the instructions of Collector, all the food packets of low quality were replaced and quality food packets were promptly distributed to the officers and employees engaged in the counting of votes.It is noteworthy that the responsibility of food distribution and quality testing of food in the Lok Sabha Elections-2024 was entrusted to B.S. Devliya, Food Safety Officer, Ujjain, but he was negligent in discharging the responsibilities assigned to him. On which Food Safety Officer Devliya has been suspended with immediate effect using the powers vested under Rule 9 (1) (a) of the Madhya Pradesh Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1966.
