District Collector and District Election Officer Kaushalendra Vikram Singh chaired a meeting of the standing committee on Tuesday to launch the first draft of electoral rolls in the district.
Attended by representatives of all political parties and officials, the participants were informed of the Election Commission of India directives that mandate the publication of draft electoral rolls before inviting objections and claims from stakeholders as part of the special brief revision programme.There are a total of 2,029 polling stations in the seven assembly constituencies in the Bhopal district, with 2,114,070 registered voters.Among these voters, there are 1,085,470 men, 1,028,432 women, and 168 others who have been included in the voter list.Following the publication of the draft electoral rolls, claims and objections will be accepted until November 28.
During this period, special camps will be organised on November 9, 10, and 16 to assist stakeholders in bringing their claims and objections to the notice of Booth Level Officers (BLOs) at their respective polling stations.Collector Singh stated that a hard copy of the photo electoral roll, a soft copy of the non-photo voter list on CD, a list of current polling stations (Annexure-6), the schedule and instructions for brief revision 2025, a soft copy of the BLO list on CD, and a list of mobile numbers of election-related officials have been provided to national political parties.
